C.A.N. is the Commonwealth of Allied Nations, an organization spearheaded by the Sovereign Democratic Kingdom of Terramor for the advancement of micronations, and individual sovereignty around the world.
Our research has led us to find that we micronations hold in common the fact that the world is against our sovereign cause and has set stringent requirements and impediments to our meeting the requisites of recognized statehood. Some have had land claims refuted as not being actual land, while others have been overlooked due to low population, etc. We believe together, more is possible!
We have decided to spearhead a Commonwealth of Allied Nations. This will be a coalition of sovereign micronations all working in concert to further each other's common cause of recognized statehood and sovereignty by pooling agreed resources and sharing in each other's advantages. With this, we will more swiftly reach international recognition for each other as the Commonwealth gains recognition. The specifics are below.
Who: Any Peace-Loving Micronation that agrees to our charter, who's sovereign has publicly taken our oath of loyalty and cooperation, and has achieved at least two of the requirements for UN recognition as a sovereign Nation. Those being a territory, a permanent population, a democratic constitution, and engagement in international trade and cooperation with UN-recognized nation-states. This will create a global network of productivity moving the needle of success for our common cause.
What: The Sovereign Democratic Kingdom of Terramor or SDKT is inviting qualifying world micronations to join the Commonwealth of Allied Nations, CAN. To further our goals we will all need to pool or share resources while maintaining our respective sovereignty similar to those nations within Queen Elizabeth's Commonwealth of Nations. These resources include Territory, Citizenry, Money, and Influence. We will do this as follows:
The SDKT will allocate one square mile of land in our capital city of Bir Tawil as a land grant to the Commonwealth of Allied Nations. This land grant will be permanent so long as "CAN" is in existence. Each nation within the commonwealth will be granted space for consular offices within this designated district thus fulfilling the actual territory requirement for those nations in need. Each nation will also provide designated consular space within its' sovereign borders to allow for the reception of Commonwealth Nation leadership. There is not a stringent space requirement for this as many nations may have limited space. This could be satisfied by a desk and a space to fly the flag of the Commonwealth along with that of the member nation. The importance of this is creating the infrastructure for diplomatic channels once one nation-state or the Commonwealth is internationally recognized. As the commonwealth will have exchanged consular lands with all members and visa versa, all commonwealth nations will have automatically documented international trade and cooperation with each other, so when one is recognized it will fulfill one requirement for all member nations.
The Commonwealth will maintain up to date records of the citizenry of each member nation. This should be updated monthly at the close of each calendar month. With this, each Commonwealth member state will be able to boast our aggregate citizenry through an agreement of dual citizenship across our nations. This will also allow the commonwealth to issue passports to citizens of all member nations once the commonwealth is internationally recognized. This will provide a huge advantage to each member nation who independently would not yet have this authority. It will also create additional revenue for each member state as the Commonwealth will profit share on all passports ordered from the specific citizenry of a member nation.
A major initiative of the commonwealth must be to create international commerce and cooperation with an UN-recognized nation-state. Resources will be necessary to make this possible. While each of our nations may have a modest GDP and or annual budget. We may pool a small number of resources to meet this end. This can be done through crowdsourcing, joint fundraising, and or a simple due structure passed to the citizenry of each member nation of the commonwealth. Each member nation can forward the Memorandum from CAN expressing our plan to secure recognition of the commonwealth which would allow member nations to issue Banking Licenses, Insurance Licenses, and International Travel Documents. This way citizens can choose whether to contribute to the cause or not. Contributions will be a due structure of $20 U.S. per year to CAN per citizen. Once CAN receives these contributions 50% will be sent to the member state governments as a commonwealth profit share support payment. The remaining funds will be used to make donations, commerce, and cooperation efforts with UN-recognized nations on the behalf of the entire commonwealth. We will strategically reach out to and interact with the 10 poorest UN-recognized nations in the world as they have more needs and will be more receptive to our efforts.
The whole is only as great as its included parts. As such the Commonwealth of Allied Nations is dedicated to making sure each of its member nations is reaching its full potential. At times our influence is our most valued asses. The SDKT has become well adept at public relations and wielding its voice and influence on the world stage. As sponsor and leader of CAN SDKT will assist member nations with certain public relations functions and may call on member nations to arrange appearances, articles, etc. to continue to build their national profile and in turn the profile of the commonwealth. If we are all talking to and about each other, we will stay publicly relevant. As part of this push to share and grow influence commonwealth members will license the use of likeness, logos, flags, names, etc. to the Commonwealth for the production of gifts that will be sold in partnership on the commonwealth website. The proceeds of these gifts will be split evenly between the commonwealth and each member nation to further our goal of UN and international recognition.
The Sovereign of each Member Nation accepts and affirms the following oath when joining the Commonwealth of Allied Nations:
I title and name do solemnly swear to uphold the mutual loyalty, friendship, respect, and cooperation of all fellow commonwealth nations for the protection of our peoples, the strength of our nations, and to further our common sovereign cause.
Conventions, Summits, and Assemblies
From time to time meetings may be held by the whole commonwealth or by committees within the commonwealth in person or electronically. Conventions are held between committees as needed. General Assembly Meetings are held as needed and open to all member nations. An annual Summit is arranged each year for all member nations to attend.
to each member nation's website will be listed on the commonwealths website and visa versa.
